An important part of the design and construction process was to ensure the use of child safe materials. The children’s sand pit was one aspect where a detailed installation was observed to ensure the correct placement of geotec fabric and special clean sand.

To ensure the safety of the children and to meet BCA safety requirements a 45mm thick Softrax shredded recycled rubber layer on top of KDKII synthetic grass was used. Also used were softfall pads and colored synthetic grass on 1.2m high large columns.

Bathroom fixtures were designer selected and colors were chosen to create a bright, fresh feel. The fitout was completed over a tight programme of 12 weeks with the Quatram Building Services team liaising constantly with subcontractors and consultants.
